I’m Makana, a personal trainer and coach from OÊ»ahu with over 12 years of experience helping people move, perform, and live better. What began as my own journey as an athlete has evolved into a calling to guide others — from youth athletes to adults reclaiming their strength. My focus is on building strong, resilient individuals through purposeful, functional training.
My Story
I’m Makana (Aaron Batungbacal), a certified personal trainer and coach from OÊ»ahu with over 12 years of experience in fitness and sports performance. My career has taken me from managing gyms to coaching championship high school football teams, and training everyday individuals to elite athletes. Through every stage, one thing has remained the same: I’m here to help people move better, get stronger, and live with purpose.

My approach is rooted in function, safety, and efficiency. Whether I’m training a youth athlete or a 50-year-old client recovering from injury, every program I design is built to match their unique goals and capacity — without wasting time or risking injury. I emphasize proper movement, mobility, and progressive strength as the foundation of long-term success.

Over the years, I’ve developed and delivered strength and conditioning programs for football, soccer, and general fitness populations. I’ve also led HIIT and strength classes, managed training operations, and mentored student-athletes on discipline and leadership. My clients know me for my consistency, attention to detail, and results-driven mindset.
